Considered one of the leading trial attorneys in the State of Utah, James E. Slemboski (Jim) has 29 years of experience in a broad range of legal areas. He has worked for the State of California Attorney General’s Office in the Tort Litigation Division, and as a member of the Trial Defense Service for the United States Army. Since moving to St. George in 1988, Mr. Slemboski has handled countless trials in the areas of business and commercial law, family law, real estate, probate, criminal defense, and termination of parental rights. He has an unequaled record of success, and honesty, dedication to service, and a sense of fairness are hallmarks of his professional philosophy. In addition to his trial work, Mr. Slemboski has extensive expertise in the areas of estate planning and bankruptcy. Having an MBA from the University of Utah and experience in financial administration has given him a unique level of expertise in any case involving finance or accounting. Background
Jim married his wife Alaina over 42 years ago and together they have raised 10 children. He graduated from California University, San Jose with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Thereafter, he was awarded a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Utah. Finally Mr. Slemboski obtained his Juris Doctorate from Golden Gate University School of Law, San Francisco, California.
Mr. Slemboski has served eight years on active duty with the United States Army and four years with the United States Army Reserves. He was commissioned through OCS as a Second Lieutenant and left the military to complete his legal education. After becoming an attorney, Mr. Slemboski reentered the miliary as a Captain and was appointed to the Judge Advocate General Corp (lawyer branch). Most recently, Mr. Slemboski and his wife accompanied three of their children to Guang Zhou, China, where his sons opened an American barbeque restaurant. He provided business and legal advice for his children’s companies in Hong Kong and Guang Zhou.
Mr. Slemboski is an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and has been actively involved in a variety of business and community activities. He is a member in good standing of the Utah State Bar and Southern Utah Bar Association. He has also served on the board of directors of Dixie Care and Share, St. George Exchange Club, the Rocky Mountain District of the National Exchange Club, St. George Rotary Club Foundation, Southern Utah Center for the Deaf, the Dixie Healthcare Foundation, and the Dixie Regional Medical Center. He is the past President of the St. George Exchange Club and received the National Distinguished President Award. He is also the past District President of the Rocky Mountain District of the National Exchange Club and past Chairman of the Dixie Healthcare Foundation. Finally, he has served twice as a Bishop for the LDS Church and recently returned from full-time missionary service.
